Li Wei
"I deeply love nature. I
not only value it, but also respect it. The objects in my recent artworks include
all the things that we call "garbage" that we think should be thrown away and
disposed of: scrap iron and bronze, withered branches and dead leaves, broken bricks
and tiles, pieces of paper and cloth and so on. The ideas of the decision-makers in

"garbage" and whether or not they are permitted to exist. But this is not

[abovementioned] objects live gently, perfectly and freely. The works show one's
respect and values- material, cultural and mental values. The willful opinion that
the objects are dirty, broken, old, outdated and useless garbage is not only caused by a
compulsive feeling." ...more
