Houston, TX– Congressman Al Green (TX-09), Congressman John Culberson (TX-07), and the American Jewish Committee’s Houston Chapter will join together to host the annual America’s Table breakfast. This breakfast is a celebration of America’s diverse backgrounds through readings, music and stories. The program will feature the Parker Elementary School Choir and several business and ethnic leaders representing the diversity of Houston.
AJC chapters across the country will be hosting inter-group community events in the days leading up to Thanksgiving. Civic, ethnic and religious leaders will come together to read from the America's Table reader (designed specifically for this event) to share their families’ journey to America, and discuss current inter-group relations and challenges. It is widely known that Houston is one of our nation's most culturally rich and ethnically diverse cities. For this reason, our great metropolis is the ideal place to host this event that celebrates our nation's unique composition.
