|(HOUSTON, TX) – Harris County Sheriff Adrian Garcia will make his rounds Tuesday evening, visiting various neighborhood National Night Out events throughout the county.|
Sheriff Garcia will kick off the evening in the Summerwood neighborhood in Northeast Harris County. He will then make his way to the Woodforest subdivision in East Harris County and the Wortham subdivision in Northwest Harris County before wrapping up in the Katy area.
Harris County Sheriff Deputies will also be participating in National Night Out events throughout the county. They will be sharing crime prevention tips with citizens and fingerprinting children for ID kits.
National Night Out brings together citizens, law enforcement agencies, civic groups, businesses and neighborhood organizations to:
Heighten crime and drug prevention awareness;
Generate support for, and participation in, local anti-crime programs;
Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships; and
Send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.
Everyone is encouraged to attend their local National Night Out event and meet their neighbors as well as area law enforcement officers.
