|(HOUSTON, TX) – Some two dozen deputies with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office will shadow wait staff for tips this Friday to help raise money for the Special Olympics of Texas.|
The Deputies, in uniform, will shadow restaurant wait staff as part of this year’s Tip-A-Cop. The event will be held at Joe’s Crab Shack in Willowbrook from 5:30 – 9:30 p.m. All tips earned that evening will go to the Special Olympics of Texas. The Harris County Sheriff’s Office’s goal is $20,000, so we’re asking restaurant patrons to tip big!
The Special Olympics provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.
