China is now also home to the Shanghai-based Cisco Research & Development Center (CRDC), one of the company's six global research centers, a Scientific Atlanta R&D Center; manufacturing and the main R&D Center of WebEx. JOB TITLE: TECHNOLOGY SOLUTION ARCHITECT

After the devastating earthquake in China on May 12, 2008, a memorandum of understanding (MOU) was signed on July 1 by Cisco Chairman and CEO John Chambers and Sichuan Governor Mr. Jiang Jufeng, committing to a partnership designed to build replicable, scalable and sustainable models of 21st century Education and Health Care in the earthquake stricken areas of Sichuan Province .

In order to achieve our ambitious goals and the success of Connecting Sichuan Program, we are seeking highly talented and motivated people to join our small team. While the team will operate in a dynamic and fast paced start-up environment, the level of impact and innovation of this program will be highly rewarding.

Currently we are looking for a Technology Solution Architect to drive the architectural solutions for both Education and Health Care.

RESPONSIBILITIES
He/she needs to collaborate with our industry experts of education and health care to 1) understand business/applicatio n requirements and industry markets 2) translate them into technical requirements and 3) create technology solutions that are architecturally simple, replicable, and sustainable. While these solutions will be implemented in the Chinese context, they must be designed for scalability across other emerging markets and developed economies.

Core competencies of this role include:

In depth knowledge of networking architecture
Extensive knowledge of Cisco products and technologies
Experienced in solution driven network designs
Ability to translate business requirements and applications into technology solutions
Ability to orchestrate solution development within overall Cisco technical community and be a thought leader in innovation
Fluent in Chinese and English
Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills; effective and efficient in working in a virtual team environment
Key responsibilities:

Research and understand requirements for Health Care and Education
Work closely with Directors of Health Care and Education to develop innovative and sound technology architectures and solutions that support scalable and replicable models for Health Care and Education
Engage and collaborate with Cisco technical leaders to leverage the full family of Cisco intellectual capital (solutions, products and services), especially with the global Health Care and Education teams
Provide overall technical leadership for the program.
Willingness to travel to Sichuan frequently (if not residing in Chengdu )

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Cisco experiences such as CSE, solution architect or equivalent
Experienced in customers and partners engagement
10+ extensive network architecture, design and implementation background
CCIE desired
Chinese Mandarin required
