|April 28, 2009, Houston, Texas – The Texas Dragon Boat Association (TDBA) announced today that because of the recent weather and the condition of Buffalo Bayou, the May Dragon Boat Festival will be moving from Allen’s Landing to Sugar Land, Texas. The event, scheduled for this weekend, May 2nd, 2009, will now take place at Fluor Corp. located at 1 Fluor Daniel Drive and will showcase the competing dragon boat teams, cultural performances, and vendors.|
A sincere thank you to City of Sugar Land, Fluor Corp., Lake Point Development, and First Colony Community Association for making this transition possible in the short time allowed.

The Texas Dragon Boat Association (TBDA) is a 501(c)(3) Texas non-profit corporation whose mission is to promote the tradition of dragon boating, to increase awareness of Asian and Asian American culture, and enhance cross-cultural understanding. TDBA organizes the Houston Dragon Boat Festival in downtown Houston each May and the Gulf Coast International Dragon Boat Regatta in Sugar Land, Texas, each October.
