|Houston – The Greater Houston Partnership is pleased to host its biannual Legislative Wrap-Up Luncheon on Thursday, June 18, 2009.|
With Governor Rick Perry’s announcement last week of a special session, luncheon panelists and participants will discuss, dissect and otherwise sort through the Texas 81st Legislative Session. The analysis will include commentary on what did or didn’t happen, what dead bills may make a comeback in the special session and what it all means to our region! The audience will also have the opportunity to engage in the discussion.
Panelists include Michael Berry, on-air personality and former Houston city councilman; Mary Benton, KPRC Local 2 reporter; Andrew Fish, Managing Partner of Texas Legislative Service; and Leonard Spearman, Jr., Director of the Government Law Center at Texas Southern University. Robert Miller, a partner with the Locke, Lord, Bissell & Liddell’s law firm and Chair of the firm’s public law practice, will moderate the lively discussion.
