|HOUSTON, TX – Harris County Sheriff’s Deputy Touchasee “Dan” Kributr was honored Wednesday as an “Outstanding Asian Law Enforcement Officer” by the Asian Chamber of Commerce.|
He was one of five area peace officers to receive the honor.
According to Rogene Gee Calvert, the Chamber’s president, the officers were selected based on their impact on the community and performance on the job.
“Law enforcement is not generally an area that Asian-American individuals go into,” says Calvert who hopes the recognition will encourage other Asian-Americans to look into the career of law enforcement. “We want a healthy, safe community,” she adds. “It's part of being a good business community.”
Deputy Kributr has been with the HCSO for 19 years. He is currently assigned to the Criminal Investigations Bureau as an Undercover Operations Vice Investigator. Deputy Kributr’s investigations have resulted in the arrest of 52 suspects for various offenses. He’s also been instrumental in the seizure of more than $167,000 in cash and nearly $2 million in property during his two year tenure with the Vice unit.
Congratulations to Deputy Kributr!
