WHY: In commemoration of Asian Pacific American Heritage Month, the Asian Chamber of Commerce and Houston Wellness Association are partnering to honor five individuals and institutions who have contributed to the health and wellness of Houston’s APA community. These pioneers are: Dr. Beng Ho for Community Health Leadership; Dr. Jenny Yi for Community-Based Participatory Research; Dr. Vi Ho for Community Outreach; the Philippine Nurses Association of Metropolitan Houston for Community Health Group and the Indian Doctors Charity Clinic for Clinical Health. Dr. Beverly J. Gor, Post Doctoral Fellow at the Center for Research on Minority Health at UT MDA Cancer Center, will be the keynote speaker.
