One of the most talented guitarists of his generation, Australian born Rupert Boyd has been described by The Washington Post as "truly evocative", and by Classical Guitar Magazine as "a player who deserves to be heard". He has performed throughout North America, Europe and Australia, and in New York has performed at Carnegie Hall, the 92nd Street Y, Merkin Concert Hall and the Cathedral of St. John the Divine (the world's largest gothic cathedral). His solo CD Valses Poéticos received the following review in Soundboard, the quarterly publication of Guitar Foundation of America: "Boyd's playing is beautifully refined, with gorgeous tone . . . musically and technically flawless . . . [the Granados is] one of the best recorded performances of this work on guitar."
Jacob Cordover has established a vibrant and varied international career. He has appeared on stage throughout Australia, Canada, the US, Spain, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Italy and the United Kingdom as a soloist and in his chamber ensembles, Zoco Duo (with oboist Laura Karney) and the Australian Guitar Duo. His solo CD Stélé, recorded in 2004, is regularly featured on Australian radio and was hailed by Classical Guitar Magazine (UK) as "wonderfully sympathetic and highly accomplished . . . Cordover manages to get to the very soul of this striking and brilliant music."
The Australian Guitar Duo is becoming recognised as one of the most dynamic and exciting guitar ensembles. The duo has given performances throughout the world, including at the New York Guitar Duo Festival in New York City, Project Cancion Española in Spain, Festival de Musique Classique in France, Meadowlark Music Festival in Nebraska, and numerous major cities throughout Australia. Performing a mixture of contemporary Australian compositions and standard works from the guitar duo repertoire, The Australian Guitar Duo has been performing together since 2000, when they met while undertaking studies at the Australian National University School of Music.
