|HOUSTON – With more than 3,700 miles of freeways and expressways, a bus system with approximately 10,000 stops and more than 1,300 vehicles, an expanding light rail system, and two major airports, transportation is vitally important to every business and person in the Houston region. Texas Lieutenant Governor David Dewhurst will address the current “State of Transportation” during a luncheon hosted by the Greater Houston Partnership.|
Lt. Governor Dewhurst will discuss the reorganization of the Texas Department of Transportation, as well as traffic congestion reduction planning. In addition, he will offer a pre-session analysis of the state of Texas transportation, and building statewide consensus on policy and funding solutions for the 82nd Legislative session.
