Robin's Haven of Hope, Inc. educates the community specifically youth, about preventable diseases such as HIV, Hepatitis B and C, STD, HPV, diabetes, hypertension and obesity. This is accomplished through community outreach events, school assemblies, school lectures, and church functions. Robin's Haven of Hope Inc. locates resources to help infected and affected individuals so they can help themselves.
Sponsorships are still available for this event. All sponsors will have their name or organization listed in the event program and will receive special recognition.

In March 2007, Robin`s Haven of Hope. Inc. personnel helped organized a National Women and Girls HIV/AIDS Awareness Day event at the Acres Home Multi?Service Center in Houston, Texas. This event discussed the future challenges regarding the impact of HIV/AIDS on women and girls, raise awareness of this disease and encourage women and girls to take action in the fight against this disease.
Other educational events organized within the community were Standing in the Power of Knowledge ? June 2007; HIV Community Awareness Day and Parade ? October 2007; Put Your Armor on to Survive the Battle ? April 26, 2008 and Who's the Gate Keeper in our Community held at the United Way to Greater Houston on July 31, 2008. All these events had a variety of speakers, educational material, HIV and or hepatitis C testing, and resources available to people that are uninsured or underinsured.
Robin's Haven of Hope, Inc. had multiple community appearances since 2007 such as at Booker T. Washington High School, Eisenhower Senior High School. Greater Houston Chapter of the American Fled Cross, and the African American Chamber of Commerce. Robin's Haven of Hope, Inc. was invited to speak at these events regarding the preventable diseases of HIV and hepatitis B and C. Robin's Haven of Hope, Inc. is run by Robin Bennett and volunteers. Mrs. Bennett has been trained as a HIV prevention educator through The Center for AIDS in Houston, TX and educated in the field of hepatitis B and C. Robin?s Haven of Hope, Inc, is run from a house with no overhead costs associated with it.
Robin`s Haven of Hope, lnc. plans on continuing these educational events in the community and is scheduling one every quarter. The community appearances at schools and through other organizations to bring awareness and education will continue on an average of once per month except during the summer months. No specific dates for events in 2009 are scheduled at this time.
Robin's Haven of Hope, Inc. does receive in kind donations to cover the costs of 'printing event materials, food, and other event items. Most facilities do not charge a fee for utilizing their buildings since they see these events as bringing community awareness issues to their area. Ms. Bennett organizes these events on a volunteer basis. Any funds that Robin?s Haven of Hope, Inc. receives are usually put back into the community by paying for the HIV and / or hepatitis testing. If Robin s Haven of Hope, Inc. does receive community outreach or educational grants these are used to offset any usage fees, food, and event items such as tables, chairs, and sound system.
