|HOUSTON – Sen. Mary Landrieu of Louisiana will be a special guest speaker at an executive committee meeting at Greater Houston Partnership, the primary business advocate of the Houston region. A media availability will take place after the meeting, which will be closed.|
As a senior member of the Senate Energy & Natural Resources Committee, Landrieu will discuss the issues facing the Gulf Coast in the aftermath of the BP oil spill, in particular the Obama Administration’s drilling moratoria, coastal protection measures and the need for accelerated oil and gas revenue sharing for Gulf states. The senator will also be available to highlight the Administrations’ recent report that tracks her legislation to dedicate BP oil spill penalties to long-term coastal restoration.
Landrieu was invited by GHP to share her vision of the gulf coast cleanup and the impact of the drilling moratorium.
