|APAHA 2011 FESTIVAL: “OUR RICH TAPESTRY OF CULTURES.”|

Celebrating 19 years of promoting Asian and Pacific Islander culture and heritage, the APAHA 2011 Heritage Festival will be held at the birthplace of Houston – Allen’s Landing, along the Buffalo Bayou waterfront in Downtown Houston. This year's theme is "Our Rich Tapestry of Cultures". Enjoy the culture and traditions of Asian American and Pacific Islanders though a sample of our cuisine, colorful arts and crafts and themed shows.
Performing on stage is the kirtan band The Mayapuris. The Myapuris incorporate the mridunga, tabla, flute, harmonium, and various instruments amid singing, and dancing into a joyful and euphoric sound. Other performances will be staged by the Anjali Center for Performing Arts, a renowned institution dedicated to promoting and preserving Indian performing arts, Gypsy Dance Theatre, The Okinawa Cultural Association of Texas, and many more!
