|HOUSTON (June 20, 2011) – The Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA), a bureau of the U.S. Department of Commerce, will host the second meeting of the National Advisory Council on Minority Business Enterprise (NACMBE) in Houston on June 24th. The Advisory Council is focused on promoting the U.S. minority business community as an economic force for the future.|
Council members are accomplished business leaders from a variety of industries and from around the country. They will receive a briefing by Mr. James Lowry, co-author of Minority Business Success and then work in subcommittees to further examine issues related to strategic alliances, exports and minority business development programs.
The new Council was established by U.S. Secretary Gary Locke to provide advice and recommendations to the Administration on a broad range of policy issues affecting the nation’s 5.8 million minority-owned firms as part of the Obama Administration’s focus on job creation and U.S. economic growth.
