The award-winning Sullivan's Steakhouse swings into full gear on Wednesday, July 27, 2011 for its Celebrity Bartending event benefitting the Houston Food Bank in honor of the upcoming Houston Restaurant Weeks in August.
Sullivan's Ringside lounge will feature two celebrity bartenders:
• Editorial Cartoonist at The Houston Chronicle and Pulitzer Prize winner, Nick Anderson. Anderson’s cartoons have been published in Newsweek, The New York Times, The Washington Post, Chicago Tribune and USA Today.
• Named one of Five Outstanding Young Houstonians for 2011, Councilman Corbett Daniel Parker is a successful attorney, the youngest Bellaire City Councilman and a well known community leader.
The Celebrity Bartending event at Ringside benefits the Houston Food Bank, the charity associated with Houston Restaurant Weeks. Houston Food Bank is the largest source of food for hunger relief charities in 18 southeast Texas counties. With a network of nearly 500 food pantries, soup kitchens, senior centers and other agencies, the Houston Food Bank feeds a total of 137,000 people each week, providing more than 65 million pounds of food.
Attending guests can indulge in specialty bar bites courtesy of Executive Chef Teli Trikilis. All tips and donations, as well as 20 percent of the food sales in the bar, will be awarded to the Houston Food Bank.
