|On behalf of the Asian American Giving Circle of Greater Houston, I would like to invite you to join us at a reception celebrating Asian American Family Services (AAFS), our circle’s first 2012 grantee.|
The reception, which includes a complimentary light dinner, is sponsored by Mandy Kao and Rogene Gee Calvert. It will be held April 11, 2012, from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at AAFS (9440 Bellaire Blvd., Suite. 228, Houston, Texas 77036; next to MetroBank-Dynasty Mall). At the event, AAFS representatives will describe how they offer mental health care and prevention programs to youth, adults, elderly, and refugees. It is a great way to learn more about resources available to our Asian community in Houston.
Please let Maria (Maria@TitanManagemnet.com; 281 849 3045) know by April 5 if you will be attending the reception.
AAFS, established in 1994 as the Asian American Family Counseling Center, is the only community-based, non-profit agency of its kind in the Southwestern United States. AAFS is dedicated to serving the mental health and social service needs of the diverse multi-ethnic Asian American community in Texas. It provides bilingual and culturally appropriate mental health counseling and family support services. Today, AAFS conducts myriad interventions and prevention-oriented programs for more than 2,000 families annually.
AAFS will be receiving a grant equal to half the general funds the giving circle raises ithis grant cycle, event-specific donations we collect on their behalf, and a match on those funds from Asian American/Pacific Islanders in Philanthropy. Please contact Angelique Geehan (713 899 0655; email@example.com) if you are interested in donating.

Giving circle members will be available to share information about our socially interactive, philanthropic group. We have granted almost $40,000 in the last 4 years to local Asian American nonprofit agencies and programs.
