Fort Bend County, TX. - Early on the morning of Saturday, November 9th, Laura Jenne Richard, a long-time Fort Bend County resident filed for the office of Fort Bend County Clerk in the March, 2014 Republican Primary.
Richard declared her intent to run for this position last summer with a series of kick-off events around Fort Bend County. After spending 20 years in the computer software industry, Laura Richard brings a unique blend of talent and insight to the County Clerk position.
Richard has held leadership positions in corporate and non-profit organizations; has proven experience in executive management and has managed multi-million dollar budgets. With her substantive knowledge and leadership, she is extremely qualified for this position.
The Fort Bend Business Journal named Richard one of the 10 Fort Bend “Women to Watch for 2011”.
“At one time or another, all citizens will need access to one or more of the millions of vital documents on file with the Clerk’s office and most residents will, at some point, conduct transactions with the County. I intend to run a disciplined office that exhibits professionalism and efficiency at all times and continue the progress of the current County Clerk. I pledge to be fiscally conservative and remain within the budget constraints allotted to this department.” says Richard. She continued, “I will see that the County Clerk’s office offers prompt and courteous service, follows the County Clerk codes, and maintains taxpayer privacy, according to the law.”
Active in the Republican party for over 20 years, Richard has the support of a great number of Republican Precinct Chairs and party leaders countywide.
