|Austin - The Glenn Hegar Campaign announced today that State Senator Brian Birdwell has endorsed Glenn Hegar in his Republican Primary race for Texas State Comptroller.|
"I'm proud to endorse my friend and colleague Glenn Hegar in his candidacy for Comptroller," declared Birdwell. "During our time together in the Texas Senate, I've seen firsthand the work ethic, fiscal conservatism and high character that Glenn Hegar will carry to the Comptroller's office. Along with his outspoken support for life and fervent defense of the second amendment, Glenn has the economic knowledge and legislative experience necessary to excel as our state's chief financial officer."
Senator Birdwell represents Senate District 22, which includes Bosque, Ellis, Falls, Hill, Hood, Johnson, McLennan, Navarro, Somervell counties and a portion of Tarrant County. He and his wife, Mel, live in Granbury.
"I am proud of Brian's support for our campaign," Hegar said. "I know his word is carried in the highest esteem with both his constituents and conservatives across Texas. His service to our country and the experiences he has endured as a result of cowardly acts of terror on 9/11 are close to my heart. Working together, we will continue to make our case for low taxes and a smaller, more efficient government."
Senator Birdwell joins a list of conservative leaders to endorse Glenn Hegar, including: Comptroller Susan Combs, Michael Quinn Sullivan of Texans for Fiscal Responsibility, Young Conservatives of Texas, Texas Municipal Police Association, Tim Lambert of the Texas Home School Coalition, Elizabeth Graham of Texas Right to Life, Cathie Adams of the Texas Eagle Forum, Texas Department of Public Safety Officer's Association PAC, Carol Everett of the Heidi Group, Kyleen Wright of Texans for Life Coalition, Ann Hettinger, Texas Home School Coaltion, Jonathan Saenz of Texas Values, Representative Giovanni Capriglione, Representative Craig Goldman, Representative Stephanie Klick, Representative Matt Krause, Representative Bill Zedler.
