|Comptroller Elect Glenn Hegar Announces Resignation from State Senate|
Hegar grateful to citizens of Senate District 18
Austin – The Glenn Hegar Campaign announced today that State Senator Glenn Hegar has notified Governor Rick Perry of his intent to resign from the office of Senator for the 18th Senatorial District effective Friday, December 5, 2014. Glenn Hegar was recently elected to serve as the 25th Comptroller of Public Accounts for the State of Texas.
“I am extremely honored, humbled, and grateful to the citizens of Texas who have elected me as their next Comptroller,” Hegar said. “I extend my deep and profound gratitude to the constituents of Senate District 18 for allowing me to be their voice in the Texas Senate for the last 8 years. Serving the citizens of Senate District 18 has been a tremendous honor, and I will always be grateful for the privilege to serve as a member of the Texas Legislature since 2003.”
