Former Council Member Helena Brown Endorses Greg Travis
Former Houston City Council Member and Lifelong Conservative Republican Activist Helena Brown today announces her endorsement of Greg Travis for Houston City Council District G!
September 3, 2015 – Today Greg Travis proudly announces his endorsement by Helena Brown.
"Today, more Houstonians are waking up to the reality that our city government faces severe financial challenges, while the culture of special interest politics at City Hall continues to undermine community values and drive taxpayers deeper into debt. The only way to turn our city around is to elect independent leaders who represent the interests of our neighborhoods and businesses, and who will oppose the corrupt culture of politics at City Hall. Greg Travis is the only candidate in this race who has demonstrated the courage and capability to be an independent voice for the voters and taxpayers of Houston's District G. Greg Travis not only is a no-nonsense advocate who will not be swayed by special interests, but also he offers a compassionate results-oriented approach to constituent service that is necessary in order to be an effective council member. That's why I am proud to endorse Greg Travis for Houston City Council District G."
- Helena Brown
Helena Brown served on Houston City Council as District A Council Member from 2012-2013, representing Spring Branch and Near Northwest Houston. For the past 20 years, Brown has advocated for pro-life, pro-family, and constitutionally conservative causes and campaigns during her service as a Harris County Republican Party Precinct Chair. While serving on Houston City Council, Brown led the effort to increase the senior homestead property tax exemption, fought against the ban on homeless feeding, stood against special interest spending, and developed a successful model for greatly improved constituent service in District A.
"I am honored to receive the support of Helena Brown. She was one of the few voices sounding off for fiscal restraint during her time on City Council, something that was needed then and is much needed now."
