|MFAH Mixed Media celebrates Degas: A New Vision|
Featuring performances by Riton, DJ Sun, and the New Orleans Hustlers Brass Band
On Friday, November 4, join the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, for a French-themed MFAH Mixed Media party highlighting the exhibition Degas: A New Vision, with musical performances by Riton (Ed Banger Records), DJ Sun (Soular Productions), and the New Orleans Hustlers Brass Band (Mardi Gras Records). Guests are invited to dance the night away, participate in a creative art-making activity, and enjoy exclusive access to the exhibition, a much-anticipated survey of this Impressionist master. Learn more about the exhibition at www.mfah.org/degas.
Sip on specialty cocktails inspired by the exhibition, enjoy bites from Melange Creperie, a Parisian street- style crêperie, and create Degas-inspired art to take home. Don’t forget to snap pics in the complimentary Smilebooth and use #mfahmixedmedia to follow the action on Twitter and Instagram.

Riton (Henry Smithson), a DJ, remixer, and producer, is considered one of the most established talents in Europe. Consistently bumping low end and lush, rhythmic keys, smoothly tying in hip-hop, he has collaborated with artists from M.I.A. to Kylie Minogue and consistently provides energetic live performances. This year, he released “Rinse & Repeat,” a tech-house banger, featuring Lagos / New York vocalist Kah-Lo, topping the dance chart for weeks. He has two releases on Ed Banger Records, which has shaped modern house music, and was also featured on Nest HQ, an independent label associated with Skrillex.
Houston Press Music Hall of Fame inductee DJ Sun (Soular Productions) has worked as a recording artist and DJ for two decades, winning the Houston Press Best DJ Award on multiple occasions and the Best CD by a Local Musician Award for his album One Hundred. Houston-based party band the New Orleans Hustlers Brass Band presents an eclectic musical set, blending R&B, funk, gospel traditional jazz, zydeco, Latin, and bebop.
